THURSDAY, APRIL 11

DUI

Melissa S Kazmierski, 27, of the 6600 block of Conrad, Hodgkins, was charged with DUI, failure to reduce speed and possession of cannabis.

  • Police responded to a motor vehicle crash.
  • Suspect was observed to be under the influence of alcohol.
  • Suspect submitted a breath sample that was over .08.
  • Suspect had a bag containing a substance that tested positive for cannabis in her  purse.
  • Suspect was charged and released to appear in court.

Identity Theft

Someone tried to use a resident's identity to make a purchase at an appliance store in Ohio. The store employees contacted the resident before the transaction was approved.

Close Encounter

A staff member for a school near Hickory and Mill Streets reported a known male suspect ignored his directions while he was assisting with traffic control for after school pick-up, and accelerated his vehicle in the direction of the victim.
