Traffic Stops Lead to DUI Charges
Police charge motorists with drinking under the influence after stopping them for traffic violations.

Driving under the influence, alcohol—Karl E. Brunssen, 28, of 106 S. Lincoln St., Westmont, was arrested and charged with DUI, a blood alcohol level more than .08, speeding and improper lane usage. Police stopped him at 12:34 a.m. Jan. 29 at 55th Street and Route 83, at which time police said he failed a field sobriety test. He was released to appear in court.
Driving under the influence, alcohol—Police stopped Charles D. Johanns, 47, 3903 Hampton Ave., Western Springs, for alleged improper lane usage and an improper turn at an intersection, which led to an arrest and charges of DUI and a blood alcohol level more than .08. Police said he failed a field sobriety test. He also was arrested and charged with the traffic violations. The incidents occurred at 12:23 a.m. Jan. 29 at Oak and Ogden avenues. He was released to appear in court.
Possession of cannabis—Maryam Judar, 40, of 39 Royal Vale Dr., Oak Brook, was arrested for possession of cannabis and drug equipment at 400 S. County Line Road at 10:26 p.m. Jan. 26. She was charged and released with a court date.
