Wallet Theft, Car Burglary: Hinsdale Cops
A woman says her wallet was stolen from a shopping cart, then she finds nearly $2,000 in fraudulent charges, police say.
HINSDALE, IL — Hinsdale police released their latest blotter Tuesday. Here is the information from the reports:
- A woman told police that her wallet was stolen from her shopping cart about 4:30 p.m. May 2 at Whole Foods, 500 E. Ogden Ave. Her wallet contained her driver's license, credit cards, checkbook and about $200 in cash. Afterward, she discovered four fraudulent charges on her credit cards totaling $1,986.
- A car parked in a driveway in the 5600 block of South Park Avenue was burglarized overnight May 3. Someone rummaged through the interior, but nothing was missing from the car.
- Two people used a victim's credit card to make two fraudulent purchases totaling $1,021 about 5 p.m. May 2 at Walgreens, 15 Grant Square.
- Suspects drove up in the bus drop-off lane, partially knocked down a gate restricting access to a construction zone and tipped over a portable toilet about 10 p.m. May 4 at Hinsdale Central High School, 5500 S. Grant St.
- Someone pulled the street sign from Eighth and Vine streets and left it at the intersection of 57th and Grant streets overnight Saturday.
- Ruben Esquivel-Lezo, 45, of Chicago, was arrested about 5 a.m. May 3 in the 700 block of West 55th Street on a DuPage County warrant. He posted bond and was given a date to appear in court.
- A car in the parking lot at Hinsdale Central High School, 5500 S. Grant St., was damaged between 7 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Saturday.
- Dekari R. Iverson, 25, of Chicago, was cited about 2:30 p.m. Monday at 55th and Quincy streets on an out-of-jurisdiction warrant and on charges of driving with a suspended license and no license plate. He posted bond and was given a date to appear in court.
