2 Construction Workers Found Dead in Lockport Townhouse

Police are investigating as a double homicide.

LOCKPORT, IL — The bodies of two men were found Tuesday in a house under construction in Lockport. The men were working on the townhouse in the 16100 block of Coneflower Drive. Their bodies were discovered by coworkers early Tuesday morning.

Their identities have been determined but have not yet been released by the Will County Coroner. Autopsies are scheduled for Wednesday.

Lockport Police Chief Terry Lemming said at a press conference there is "no reason to believe the community is in danger." Police released few details and declined to reveal the cause of death.

"It appears the incident was isolated within that townhouse," Lemming said.

Investigators are processing the incident as a double homicide. The Will-Grundy Major Crimes Task Force is assisting in the investigation.
