Barbershop Stickup Man Held Gun To Child's Head: Prosecutor
Bail was denied for the man accused of holding a gun to an 11-year-old boy's head while robbing Clippers & Shears in Harvey.

HARVEY, IL — An 11-year-old boy found himself with a gun to his head after a trio of robbers walked into Clippers & Shears barbershop in Harvey intent on robbing the place this week. The accused gunman who terrorized the child appeared in court Saturday, and faced a judge who showed him no mercy.
Alfred L. Williams was held without bail by Cook County Judge John F. Lyke Jr., who described the crime as "cold and callous," according to a Chicago Tribune report on the hearing.
Williams fled the barbershop with his accomplices, money and wallets in hand, according to prosecutors, and they tried to speed away in a Chevy Impala on Tuesday. But one of the barbers opened fire on them, striking the car and one of the robbers in the 100 block of East 147th Street. Police soon caught up with them.

Other children were inside the shop during the robbery, prosecutors said, and one man grabbed the child away from Williams and shielded the boy and the other children.
Williams, of Dolton, is charged with felony armed robbery. His accomplices could appear in court Sunday, reports the Tribune.
