HOMEWOOD-FLOSSMOOR, IL — The northbound Bishop Ford Freeway between Sibley Boulevard and Dolton Avenue in Calumet City and Dolton will be shut down beginning Thursday.

The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that an emergency sewer repair will require a temporary lane closure until about 2 p.m. Friday. The first set of work will close the left lane until 5 a.m. Friday. The lane will be reopened for rush hour, then closed again at 10 a.m. to continue the work. The repairs will be done as long as weather permits it, a spokesman said.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
