HOMEWOOD, IL — The Annual Homewood Rail Fest is back this spring to celebrate the village's rich rail history with a little fun for everyone.

The fest, now in its 15th year, will feature model train displays, train collectables, kid crafts, folk railroad songs sung by MG Bailey and trackless train rides on Canadian National’s Little Obie. Kids can also participate in the railroad scavenger hunt. Collectors will be able to purchase vintage train memorabilia.

“This is a great festival for the whole family to experience what makes Homewood such a wonderful community.,” said Village Mayor Rich Hofeld in a statement. “The town was built around the railroad. Homewood’s Rail Fest is the perfect time for the community to come together and to have for everyone outside the community to visit us on the Metra Electric line."
