A Chicago Heights man was charged Saturday with attempted murder in connection with a July shooting that left another man partially paralyzed.

Edward Carter, 35, of the 1600 block of Portland Avenue, is being held without bail after appearing in Cook County bond court Saturday, Aug. 9, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Carter is accused of shooting a man seven times with a 9mm handgun during a July 31 incident, the report stated. The shooting left the victim partially paralyzed on his right side, the report added.
