Cobbler Finds New Home in Flossmoor
Ricardo Tovar and wife Shareese were left to find a new storefront, after their previous home in Lincoln Mall closed.
Shareese Tovar calls their new home in Flossmoor a miracle.
Tovar and husband Ricardo found themselves scrambling for a home for their shoe repair business, after learning that their previous location at Lincoln Mall was to close Jan. 7.
“Each place kept falling through,” Tovar told Patch. Many potential locations had quirks or issues that deemed it not quite the right fit for the couple’s five-year-old business. Until they found the former Poppies location, at 1036 Sterling Ave.

“When we closed Wednesday, we had a place two days later,” Tovar said. “It worked out perfectly.”
Ricardo Tovar brings 30 years of experience as a cobbler and maker of custom shoes, boots, and handbags, with the shop bearing his name. Prior to their location at Lincoln Mall, Tovar practiced his craft from their home in Matteson. He is skilled in wingtip, leather, and alligator skin footwear.
