Country Club Hills Resident Shot Dead In Homewood: Police
The Cook County Medical Examiner's office ruled Robert James Jr.'s death a homicide
HOMEWOOD, IL — Homewood Police say a 48-year-old man was found dead in an office building on the 900 block of 175th Street on Saturday. The discovery came after police were called to tend to a gunshot victim.
The man was identified on Tuesday as Robert James Jr., who was most recently a resident of Country Club Hills, according to police. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office ruled his death a homicide. The Homewood Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit, along with help from the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force said the attack wasn't a coincidence, adding that James was targeted.
Police say a suspect has been identified and that the investigation is still on going, adding there is no danger to the community at this time.
