Flossmoor Woman Wins $2,000,000 on $20 Scratch-off Ticket
She bought the ticket with the $20 she won on a previous $2 scratchoff ticket.
FLOSSMOOR, IL — A Flossmoor woman plans to pay bills, invest, and go on a Hawaiian vacation after scratching an Illinois Lottery Merry Millionaire ticket and instantly winning $2,000,000.
M. Gordon was at Golo, 450 Cicero Ave., in University Park, when she bought a $2 instant ticket, scratched it, and won $20. She decided to spend her winnings and treat herself to a Merry Millionaire ticket. She used a quarter to scratch her ticket and instantly won $2,000,000.
“I started shaking and crying right there in the middle of the store!” She chose to take her prize as a one-time lump sum payment of $1,200,000 (prior to withholding).
