Flossmoor's 4th Of July 2020 Parade Off, 'Alternative' Possible
Flossmoor's traditional Fourth of July events may be canceled, but there are several other ways you can celebrate the holiday.
FLOSSMOOR, IL — July 4 events across the country will not look the same this year thanks to the coronavirus. Many cities and towns have been forced to cancel the annual Fourth of July events, including Oak Forest. Although the traditional festivities in Flossmoor are canceled, several nearby towns are holding events on Fourth of July.
Orland Park is holding their live race through Centennial Park, a band concert on the night of the Fourth of July and their regular fireworks show. In New Lenox, the town will hold a Fourth of July parade honoring essential workers. Romeoville will put on three fireworks shows, and Mokena will also hold its annual display.
Flossmoor officials were, as of June 22, working on an "alternative" 4th of July celebration, however.
