Guard Foils Robbery At US Bank In Homewood: Chief McGrath

The robbery happened around 10:30 a.m., according to Homewood Police Chief Denise McGrath​.

HOMEWOOD, IL — An attempted robbery occurred at the US Bank in Homewood Monday morning, according to Police Chief Denise McGrath.

Around 10:30 a.m., Homewood police went over to the US Bank located at 18300 Kedzie Avenue for a reported bank robbery. When officers arrived, the accused robber had been taken into custody by a security officer working at the bank.

Police have not yet released the accused person's identity.

McGrath said no one was injured or harmed during the incident, and that Homewood police are investigating, along with the FBI.

The accused robber was turned over to the custody of the FBI, according to McGrath.
