Hazel Crest Surgery Center Completes Phase 2 Construction

Advocate South Suburban Hospital's outpatient surgery center adds new amenities for patients, visitors

The new Front Lobby for Advocate South Suburban Hospital's new Center for Advanced Care, located in Hazel Crest, opened March 16, offering a more convenient, aesthetically pleasing entry point to top-quality outpatient surgical care.

“We continue to evolve and redefine the way quality care is delivered at our hospitals and the unremitting improvement of our facilities is one example,” said Rashard Johnson, president of Advocate South Suburban Hospital and Advocate Trinity Hospital in Chicago. “We are committed to bringing the best health outcomes, as well as offering the most comfortable and convenient experience to our patients, guests and everyone we touch in the communities we are so privileged to serve.”

This latest construction project transforms the western face of Advocate South Suburban's campus. Reconfigured parking and a driveway with a new exterior canopy to protect against inclement weather, make it easier to valet, pick up and drop-offs patients.

The lobby’s interior greets patients with an updated front desk for check-ins and plenty of seating. In addition to bringing the outpatient surgery center closer in line with Advocate’s branding, the center’s décor gives a nod to the historical roots of the Village of Hazel Crest, where the hospital is located, by incorporating hazelnut bush wood accents.

“We’re really pleased with how the lobby’s design and construction turned out. It’s bright, cheery and modern, which allows patients to feel confident they are receiving up-to-the minute surgical procedures and the most current care using state of the art technology from the moment they arrive,” said Jocelyn Chua, executive director of surgical services at Advocate South Suburban and Advocate Trinity Hospitals. “The main goal is to provide a signature experience to every single person who comes through our door.”
