Her Closet Boutique Ready for Move to Homewood
Her Closet Boutique, which has been located in Flossmoor for the past 18 years, will close its Flossmoor doors by the end of April. The consignment shop is moving into its new location in Homewood, at 18334 Governor's Highway.
After 18 years in the same Flossmoor location, Her Closet Boutique, a local consignment shop, jewelry and accessory store, is shutting the doors and picking up shop, moving to its new location in Homewood. The new location, 18334 Governor’s Highway in the Cherry Creek Plaza, will give the shop double it's current space.
“It's really just a size issue,” said owner Rose Demko. “In Flossmoor, they really couldn't accommodate what I need, everyone is pretty set here.”
Although space is the reason Her Closet is moving, Demko said that she has no bad feelings about Flossmoor, calling the move bittersweet and strictly a business decision.

“It really is bittersweet, it really is. This is my baby,” she said. “I mean, we opened up here 18 years ago in a space half the size of what we are now. Then we expanded and now, it's just time to expand again.”
The move, which began taking shape in January of this year, should be completed by the end of April at the latest Demko, said.

“We're really just waiting on the final inspections and things like that now,” she said.
Demko said the shop will hold a grand opening event sometime in the near future, after the shop is settled into its new location. She said customers can expect the same experience in the new location, including daily sales, a wider inventory of accessories, jewelry, consignment items and even more.
“We will be doing a nice, big grand opening party and there will be a special sale every day,” Demko said. “I like to sell stuff, that's why we're here.”
