Homewood 10th Annual Railroad Heritage Day Celebration This Sunday

The 10th Annual Railroad Heritage Day celebration is this Sunday, May 19, at the Homewood Auditorium. The free event will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The village of Homewood has a rich railway history and to celebrate, the village is hosting its 10th Annual Railroad Heritage Day on Sunday, May 19. The event will take place at the Homewood Auditorium, 2010 Chestnut Road, and will feature interactive displays, a chance for attendees to listen in on actual railroad switching conversations and more.

The event, which runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., is free to attend and open to all ages. The event will also feature Little Obie, a scale model of a Canadian National locomotive, that children will be able to ride. Canadian National is Homewood's resident railway and will also have several prototype railway equipment pieces on display along Harwood Avenue, as well.
