Homewood-Flossmoor High School To Register Students To Vote

Homewood-Flossmoor High School will be helping students who are eligible to vote, register.

HOMEWOOD-FLOSSMOOR, IL — The Homewood-Flossmoor High School will be helping students who are eligible to vote in the upcoming election, register on Monday, Sept. 21, according to the school's Facebook page.

The high school, located at 999 Kedzie Ave., Flossmoor, IL, will be registering students between 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. that are eligible to vote in the 202o election. The election will be taking place on Tuesday, Nov. 3.

In order to register, students will need to have their school I.D., along with a drivers license, State I.D., or a utility bill, to show proof of residency and identity, according to the school. Adults are also encouraged to stop by during the event to register.

The school said that the Illinois Public Act 101-0642 makes several changes to state laws that are aimed at encouraging students to serve in the role of election judge. With this, Election Day, will be considered a school holiday.

Illinois law states that election judges may be as young as age 16, if they are qualified. If a student 16 or older is interested in serving Suburban Cook County this Election Day, they are encouraged to email Elect.Judge@cookcounty.il.gov or call 312-603-0965.
