HOMEWOOD-FLOSSMOOR, IL —The 4th of July is just about here, which means it's time to fire up the grill, hit the pool — and mark your calendars for the fireworks and festivities that honor the nation's Independence Day. We gathered up the fireworks shows, parades and festivals happening in Homewood to help you plan your celebrations.
Flossmoor holds its annual parade at 10 a.m. at Flossmoor Road and Downtown Flossmoor. Line-up begins at 9:30 a.m. at Parker Junior High.
Homewood's parade steps off at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Church parking lot on historic Dixie Highway, travels east along Ridge Road, and finishes at Izaak Walton Preserve. That's where you'll be able to celebrate with the H-F Park District's annual Family Fun Fest.
