Homewood Named Tree City USA for 15th Time
The village earned the honor from the Arbor Day Foundation for its many tree-friendly initiatives.

Homewood was recently honored for the 15th time by the Arbor Day Foundation as a Tree City USA.
The award is given based on the presence of four standards, according to the Arbor Day Foundation website:
- A tree board or department
- An in-place tree care ordinance
- A community forestry program with an annual budget of at least $2 per capita
- An Arbor Day observance and proclaimation
