Homewood Woman Killed In 3-Vehicle Crash On I-80
The Cook County medical examiner's office identified the crash victim as 24-year-old Patricia Bailey.
HOMEWOOD, IL – A Homewood woman died Wednesday night after she was ejected from her car during a three-vehicle crash on I-80 westbound near Torrence Avenue in Lansing, Illinois State Police confirmed in a news release.
The Cook County medical examiner's office identified the crash victim as 24-year-old Patricia Bailey. She was pronounced shortly before 6 p.m.
Prior to the accident, troopers said Bailey lost control of her 1999 black Chevy car and veered across multiple lanes of traffic striking the right guardrail barrier.

According to troopers, the impact of the collision with the guardrail caused Bailey’s car to overturn in the roadway and strike a red Lexus SUV driven by a 67-year-old Chicago man. The red Lexus then struck a white Porsche driven by a 39-year-old man from Dyer, Indiana.
Authorities said both men involved in the accident refused medical treatment.

Troopers said they did not know if Bailey was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. She succumbed to her injuries on scene, they added.
