As I was leaving Walt’s in Homewood this morning (September 12, 2018), the Homewood Community Police was ticketing my vehicle … for an expired Homewood village sticker … even though there were TWO prominently displayed Flossmoor Village stickers. He admitted that he saw the Flossmoor stickers, but he stated that he ticketed me “because you should have removed the Homewood stickers.” !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I went straight to the Homewood Police Department and learned that my vehicle is still registered in Homewood (which is what the officer should have stated to me). I paid the ticket because I’m on call 24/7 and more than likely would not be able to attend the hearing. I went to the Secretary of State’s office in Chicago Heights and updated my address on the license plate (I honestly thought this was taken care of last September). I removed the Homewood village stickers from my windshield. I am sharing this with the hopes that nobody else will have to experience this ordeal.
