Choosing the winner from the sinful confections at Homewood's Chocolate Fest was a dirty job...but judges managed to do it.

HOMEWOOD, IL — Chocolate-covered strawberries. Crushed pretzel crusts. Mocha mousse. Choosing the winner from all of the sinful delights at Homewood's Chocolate Fest was a dirty job...but judges managed to do it.

This past weekend, nine contestants vied for the "Home Sweet Homewood's Master Pastry Chef" title as part of Chocolate Fest's Bake-Off. Three took top prize.

First place went to Jessica Josvai with her chocolate cupcakes with crushed pretzel crust, edible cupcake holder and dark chocolate ganache topping. Michelle Nelson snagged second with the Homewood Science Center-Salted Caramel Macaroon. And third place went to Patricia Stepp with her raspberry cheesecake brownie.
