Man Wins Lottery a Second Time with the Same Numbers

Matteson man wins $1.05 million by playing his high school basketball jersey numbers

MATTESON, IL — Larry Gambles won the lottery a second time with the same numbers. The lucky Matteson resident won a $1,050,000 Lucky Day Lotto jackpot prize when his ticket matched all five numbers – 01 – 06 – 12 – 14 – 25 – in the Tuesday, June 7, evening drawing.

“Nine years ago, I won $50,000 playing the numbers from the jerseys of my high school basketball team. I’ve been playing the same numbers ever since. I can’t believe they paid off again!” he said when he presented his winning ticket at the Illinois Lottery Prize Center in Chicago.

Gambles checked his Lucky Day Lotto ticket at the gas station where he purchased it. When the clerk verified that he was a big winner, he went straight home to share the news with his family.
