Mayor Appoints New Flossmoor Village Clerk, Gina A. LoGalbo
LoGalbo earned the appointment among a pool of five other applicants. The new clerk will serve a full four-year term, which ends in 2024.

FLOSSMOOR, IL — In her first appointment as Mayor, Flossmoor Mayor Michelle Nelson appointed Gina A. LoGalbo to the vacant Village Clerk position Monday night.
The appointment was backed by the Village Board, and LoGalbo, a licensed and practicing attorney who also works for the Cook County Bureau of Human Resources, will now take on clerk responsibilities. LoGalbo earned the appointment among a pool of five other applicants following the resignation of former Village Clerk Ananda Billings in April.
The Village Clerk is an elected position unless vacated prior to the end of a term at which point it becomes a Mayoral appointment. While the Board does not directly choose the candidate, its vote is a level of checks and balances to ensure that a qualified candidate is selected. LoGalbo will serve a full four-year term, which ends in 2024.

"Ms. LoGalbo has unique administrative experience as well as an impressive history of service not only to the Village of Flossmoor but also to our country as a Marine veteran," Nelson said. "With her administrative experience she demonstrated that she is very detail oriented, reliable and dependable. I know that we’ll be able to count on her."
As part of her role as a hearing officer, LoGalbo’s weekly tasks include scheduling, facilitating and conducting grievance hearings, including note-taking and directing the presentations of the parties involved — skills that she believes fit perfectly with the role of clerk.

Prior to pursuing college and earning her law degree from The John Marshall Law School, LoGalbo served in the United States Marine Corps as an Administrative Clerk, graduating first in the Administrative Clerk training class.
Aside from her career, LoGalbo is an active Flossmoor community member often volunteering for local events, including the Hidden Gem Half Marathon, Toys for Tots collections, the Homewood-Flossmoor High School Parent Advisory Board and the HF Soccer Club, among others. In her letter of interest LoGalbo also expressed her ongoing commitment to “buy local,” a value she learned from her hometown’s chamber of commerce.
"Gina’s regular presence in the community is a clear demonstration of her passion for not only the residents but also the businesses that add so much value to our community, which is an important trait of any Village representative."
"I am very pleased and excited to be a part of the village in a more formal, official capacity," LoGalbo said. "I care about Flossmoor and I try to look out for the Village’s best interests. Since I moved to Flossmoor five years ago, I have tried to be as active as possible, and once I’m a part of something, I’m loyal to the cause."
