Midwestern Appoints Marilyn Kent Tapajna to Board of Trustees

Marilyn Kent Tapajna, M.A.T., CCC-SLP/L has been appointed to the Midwestern University Board of Trustees

Kathleen H. Goeppinger, Ph.D., Midwestern University President and Chief Executive Officer, is pleased to announce that Marilyn Kent Tapajna, M.A.T., CCC-SLP/L has been appointed to the Midwestern University Board of Trustees.

Ms. Marilyn Kent Tapajna received her bachelor’s degree from Purdue University in Speech and Hearing Sciences. She earned her Master of Arts in Teaching in Speech-Language Pathology from Indiana University. As a certified speech-language pathologist, she has more than 40 years’ experience and is currently self-employed, specializing in augmentative alternative communications and evaluating and treating individuals with multiple disabilities.


Ms. Tapajna is President of the Prairie State College Foundation – Board of Directors in Chicago Heights, Illinois. She serves as the current Vice-Regent of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution – Sauk Trail Chapter, and is the Past-President and a member of the Board of Directors of the Cancer Support Center in Homewood, Illinois.

As a member of the Board of Trustees, Ms. Tapajna will help uphold Midwestern University’s mission to maintain the highest standards of academic excellence and will participate in the governance of the private not-for-profit graduate university offering degrees in the health sciences with 11 colleges and two campuses.
