NAHSE Chats With Advocate South Suburban Hospital's President
The National Association for Health Services Executives discusses leadership, workforce diversity with Rashard Johnson
The National Association for Health Services Executives (NAHSE) hosted a Feb. 20 fireside chat with Rashard Johnson, president of Advocate South Suburban and Advocate Trinity Hospitals. A diverse group of 40 Chicago area health care executives and aspiring industry leaders attended the evening networking event, which took place at Advocate South Suburban Hospital.
Trena Burke, President of NAHSE’s Chicago Chapter, moderated the intimate conversation, which touched upon Johnson’s career path, daily responsibilities and personal aspects of his family life. The ongoing South Side Health Transformation and existing Advocate South Suburban / Advocate Trinity community health programs that are effectively addressing social determinants of health, were also discussed.
The audience took special interest in gaining insights into Johnson’s leadership philosophies. “I’m very passionate about youth leadership,” the 38 year-old executive said. Johnson added that he is pleased Advocate Aurora Health shares his personal commitment to providing minority health care professionals the same level of mentoring and career growth opportunities that helped position him for career success.
