Parker Junior High Gets 2nd At Cross Country Invite
All six cross country teams at Parker Junior High were successful during a weekend meet in Oswego.

OSWEGO, IL -- The Parker Junior High Cross Country Team finished second overall out of 17 teams at the Tiger Trails Cross Country Invitational over the weekend in Oswego. All six teams from the Flossmoor school finished in the top ten of their age/gender bracket.
The sixth grade girls placed third. Out of 203 runners, Naima Douglas placed second, Grace Mullin fifth, Maddy Levy 23rd, Eva Marete 32nd and Dia Jefferson 42nd.
The sixth grade boys placed second as a team. Out of 218 runners John Hockenberry placed fourth, David Martinez 14th, Damarion Best 17th, Matthias Douglas 29th and Eric Johnson 31st.

The seventh grade girls placed third. Out of 124 runners, Daija Brown placed third, Hailey Trojan seventh, Samantha Gorton 10th and Ella Aceves 35th. Daija Brown set a new Parker record for 2 miles with a time of 12:42 despite temperatures in the mid 90's.
The seventh grade boys placed third. Out of 185 runners, Bennett Reich placed fifth, Vince Waterman 18th, Josh Moore 22nd, Dane Ivancevic 24th, Miles Rubin 25th and John Lampley 44th.

The eighth grade girls placed 9th. Out of 103 runners, Isabella Ivancevic placed 29th, Erin Williams 37th, ZaNiya Walker 48th, Ella Matthys 57th and Kennedy Smith 66th.
The eighth grade boys placed third. Out of 152 runners, Ian Hoereth placed 15th, Justus Zillman 16th, Waylon Deck 28th, Trip Shonkwiler 38th and Randall Gray 44th.
Yorkville won the invite.
Parker will compete in the conference meet at Apollo Park this coming Friday against nine other schools.
