Suspects Flee Matteson Bank Robbery; One Captured in Homewood

Two men fled the scene of the robbery, crashed the getaway car, and were caught shortly afterward.

HOMEWOOD, IL — Two suspects in a Matteson bank robbery led police on a brief chase Friday afternoon before ultimately being captured.

FBI officials said the suspects robbed a BMO Harris bank in the 4900 block of 211th Street Friday afternoon. They then fled the bank with Matteson police in pursuit. The chase continued and took police to I-57 to I-80 eastbound, where the suspects crashed the car as they were entering I-294.

The suspects fled on foot, and one was taken into custody. The second continued to run, with police capturing him in Homewood in the 17800 block of Howe. He was turned over to Matteson Police for their investigation.
