Train Strikes Car, Causing Delays On Metra Electric Line

HOMEWOOD, IL - Delays on the Metra Electric Lane lasted up to a half-hour Friday evening after a report of a train striking a car near Homewood.

Metra spokeswoman Meg Reile said Friday night that details were sparse, but from what she was told a train hit the bumper of a car around 6 p.m. No one was injured and the driver of the car drove off from the scene.

Still, the train had to stop and delays caused were anywhere from 25 to 30 minutes.

The Homewood-Flossmoor Chronicle first reported the incident.
