Hunt Continues for Gunman Who Fatally Shot Railroad Security Guard
Rashad Willliams, 24, is believed to carry at least two guns at a time. He is considered armed and dangerous.

HARVEY, IL — Police have zeroed in on a man they believe is responsible for the fatal shooting of a Canadian National railroad security guard.
A warrant for first-degree murder was issued Wednesday in the death of Tyrone Hardin, 38. Rashad Williams, 24, is wanted in the shooting and is believed to carry at least two guns at a time. He is considered armed and extremely dangerous. He is described as 6 feet tall, 170 to 190 pounds, with hazel eyes and a medium complexion.
Harvey Police Deputy Chief Gregory Thomas spoke directly to Williams via news conference Thursday.

“At this time, I’d like to extend a personal challenge to Mr. Williams to do what’s right, sir, and turn yourself in. I also extend that challenge to Mr. Williams’ family, friends, companions, and associates to do what’s right: turn him in,” Thomas said.
Hardin was on the job Nov. 26 when he encountered a suspect fleeing from police. Williams had reportedly stolen a car, later crashing it while being pursued by authorities. He then fled on to Canadian Railroad property, tripping an alarm. Hardin—a contracted security guard with Gideon 300 Security Services—was shot in the abdomen as he responded to the alarm. He died later that night.

Hardin, who was married to 40-year-old Gwinette Oliver, had been working as a security guard as a second job, to earn extra money for buying his children Christmas presents. Hardin was father to one 5-year-old son with Oliver, and stepfather to her four other children, ABC7 reports. He also had a son from a previous marriage.
Williams stole Hardin's car, fled police, and has eluded authorities for days. On Thursday, police canvassed Ford Heights after a reported spotting of Williams, putting several area schools on lockdown.
An arrest has not yet been made.
