Water Pours Into Homewood Family's Home

WGN reported from the Taliano family home in Homewood, where flood waters have damaged some cherished possessions.

HOMEWOOD, IL - The flooding issues that have swept through Chicagoland early this week have hit few as hard as the Taliano family of Homewood. Water has been pouring into the Loomis Avenue home of Jim and Britni since 10:30 p.m. Monday night, WGN reported Tuesday afternoon.

The polluted water, a result of heavy rains and melting snow, has made much of the home unsanitary. The inside of the home was "a smelly mix of sewer and flood water," Nancy Loo, one of the WGN reporters at the scene, stated.

"We've had some come through window wells before, but never had sewage coming back into the house," Jim Taliano said.
