'We Are Thrilled': Homewood Pet Adoption Center Reopens
After a three-month closure due to the coronavirus pandemic, pets are available at the Homewood Adoption Center once again.

HOMEWOOD, IL — The Homewood Adoption Center, an animal shelter at 2207 W. 183rd St.operated by the South Suburban Humane Society, is open again. The shelter began housing pets on July 1, Kristina Madere, office manager for the humane society, told Patch.
The shelter is open daily from noon to 5 p.m. for adoptions. Masks are required for anyone who enters, and Madere said high traffic areas within the building are disinfected regularly.
"All but one of our dogs got adopted out our first week back and we are so thrilled to be back," Madere said.
