Woman in 'Mental Health Crisis' Storms Post Office
A crisis negotiator was brought in to address the situation at a Park Forest post office Friday morning.

PARK FOREST, IL — Operations at a Park Forest post office were halted Friday morning after a woman in mental health crisis burst into the building and refused to leave.
Park Forest Police turned to Corporal TJ Boulden, who is certified in Crisis Intervention, to negotiate with the womanduring her severe mood swings, police said in a social media post.
Boulden was able to gain voluntary compliance and the woman was transported to the hospital by Park Forest paramedics.

"While we regret the disruption to post office operations for the half hour, we are very happy that we were able to resolve the issue and get the woman the help that she needs without the need for physical force," police wrote on Facebook. "While we simply cannot guarantee that all such situations can be resolved without physically forcing the person into custody to receive treatment, in this case the patience and training of Corporal Boulden gained the woman's trust and compliance without the need for force."
