2 Robbed At Gunpoint In Kenwood Carjacking

Two people were robbed and forced out of a car at 48th and Woodlawn by an acquaintance, according to University police.

CHICAGO – Two people were robbed and carjacked Friday afternoon in the city's Kenwood neighborhood, University of Chicago police said in a community alert.

The victims were driving in a car near the corner of 48th and Woodlawn at 3:10 p.m. on Dec. 7 when they picked up someone they knew. That person, which police described as an acquaintance of the victims, showed a handgun and took property in a robbery.

The robber then ordered the victims out of the car and then drove off in it.
