Celebrate Mother's Day with an afternoon of music

Enjoy two free musical opportunities on the University of Chicago campus!

Are you looking to treat your mom this Mother’s Day? The University of Chicago Department of Music is presenting two opportunities to share beautiful music with your mom.

Enjoy an afternoon of duets and more from performers in the Vocal Studies Program. The program includes a series of works for small vocal ensembles, including concert and operatic selections, featuring music by Monteverdi, Mozart, Donizetti, Delibes, Smetana, and Bernstein! The concert will take place at 2 p.m. in Fulton Recital Hall (1010 E. 59th Street, Goodspeed Hall, 4th floor).

At 4 p.m. in the Logan Center for the Arts (915 E. 60th Street), the University Wind Ensemble presents the Mother's Day concert, with a program highlighting works by female composers and arrangers including Chen Yi, Shelley Hanson, and Kimberly Archer. Guests can enjoy complimentary refreshments in a post-concert reception.
