Hyde Park Day School Expands To Lemont

The school will be operational for the 2018-19 school year.

HYDE PARK, IL — Hyde Park Day School has announced it will expand and open a new campus in the western suburbs. The school will open a new campus at the former site of Mount Assisi Academy in Lemont. According to the school's website, the mission of the school is to help first through eighth grade students with learning disabilities reach their full potential.

The school said its growth trajectory has led it to expand into the west suburban campus in Lemont. The school also has a campus in Chicago and Northfield.

Mount Assisi Academy was a former Catholic girls' high school which closed in 2014 due to a decline in enrollment. The building has three stories, baseball fields, tennis courts and hardscape for basketball courts.
According to the school, Hyde Park Day School will be operational for the 2018-19 academic year. Applications for the Lemont campus are already being accepted.

Jay Smith, the principal of the Chicago Campus, will be leading the opening of the new Lemont campus, the school said.
