Jackie Taylor Holsten, Founder & Chair of the Board of HHCD (Holsten Human Capital Development), not-for-profit, was pleased to honor Hyde Park resident and architect Chris Lee with HHCD’s “Community Sustainability Award” for his efforts in aiding the growth of HHCD. Says Holsten, “Chris Lee was HHCD’s first architectural partner when we expanded our role of providing social services to residents of low-income properties to include the actual creation of low-income housing. With the assistance of Chris Lee and his firm, our not-for-profit was able to partner with Holsten Development to create 63 apartments in the 80,000 sq. ft. Historic Strand Hotel that was built at 63rd & Cottage in 1914 and which lay unoccupied for almost two decades. Chris showed us the way to redevelop a historic property into what is now a vibrant part of the community without losing its original glory. We honor him with this award as a token of our gratitude for all his assistance.”

Chris Lee is a partner with the award winning firm of Johnson & Lee Architects Ltd., and a long time member of the prestigious American Institute of Architecture
