Kenwood Academy Principal Wins Golden Apple Award

Dr. Gregory Jones is the 2018 winner of the prestigious Stanley C. Golder Leadership Award.

CHICAGO, IL - Dr. Gregory Jones, principal of Kenwood Academy, is a Golden Apple award winner. Jones was presented with the prestigious Stanley C. Golder Leadership Award at a surprise assembly at the Hyde Park school last week. About 700 students attended the ceremony, which feature CPS CEO Janice Jackson as one of the speakers.

Jones was one of seven Chicagoland principals nominated for the award in February. The honor is presented in memory of Stanley C. Golder, a founding board member of Golden Apple, and honors exemplary performance and excellence in school leadership of a Pre-K through 12th grade principal or head of school from the Chicagoland area, according to a news release.
