Lab School Alum Dies After Collapsing During NBA G League Game
Zeke Upshaw, a Hyde Park native, passed away Monday morning.

CHICAGO, IL - Zeke Upshaw, a native of Hyde Park and former basketball player at the University of Chicago Lab Schools, died Monday morning after collapsing during a minor league basketball game. Upshaw, who was a member of the Grand Rapids Drive in the NBA G League, was 26.
Friends and family members of Upshaw were holding out hope for a miracle that he would survive, but he died at 11:16 a.m.

Upshaw was successful on and off the court at U-High and later at Illinois State University and Hofstra University. His story was highlighted by DNAinfo Chicago in September 2014.
