Late-Night Cookie Chain Coming to Hyde Park
A cookie shop growing in popularity will soon open in the neighborhood.

A popular late-night cookie chain will soon make its way to the University of Chicago campus in Hyde Park.
The shop is set to open in the university's newest dormitory, the North Campus Residential Commons, 1105 E. 55th St. It will be one of several dining options on the building's ground level, according to The Hyde Park Herald.
The store's parent company, Serve U Brands, opened its first Chicago location in 2013 at 2260 N. Lincoln Ave. within striking distance of the DePaul University in Lincoln Park.

The initial philosophy behind the store was simple — It's late, you're hungry and you don't want to leave the house. Open until 3 a.m. every day, Insomnia Cookies will bring you a cookie, ice cream, brownie and some milk.
"Insomnia Cookies was born out of the dislike of heavy meals late at night, love of food delivery and the realization that by the time you get hungry at night, nothing is open," company representatives said in an emailed statement.

A spokeswoman told The Hyde Park Herald that coming to the neighborhood is a natural next step. Insomnia is expected to be up and running for the 2016-2017 academic year.
