Man Waiting For Bus Robbed While Giving Directions

A man waiting for a CTA bus on 55th Street was robbed of his wallet by two people who asked him for directions.

CHICAGO, IL – A person waiting for a CTA bus in Hyde Park early Tuesday morning was robbed at gunpoint by two people who asked for directions. University of Chicago police say the victim did not know the two "unknown subjects" who approached him at 4:35 a.m. in the 1500 block of East 55th Street.

One of the suspects is reported to have pointed a handgun at the victim while the other went through the victim's pockets and took his wallet.

Both of the suspects re-entered the car they were in and fled westbound on 55th.

The victim did not sustain any injuries, according to police.
