Promontory Point Added To National Register Of Historic Places
Hyde Park's main lakefront attraction is among the most recent additions to the National Register of Historic Places.

CHICAGO, IL - Promontory Point, the feature lakefront attraction in Chicago's Hyde Park neighborhood, is now officially listed on the National Register of Historic Places. A list published by the National Park Service indicates that Promontory Point, 5491 S. Shore Dr. in Chicago was listed on Jan. 18 as one of three Illinois places to be added.
The location was nominated by the Community Task Force on Promontory Point, according to a report from the Hyde Park Herald. Local, state and federal preservation agencies reviewed the nomination.
Promontory Point is a man-made peninsula located within Burnham Park.
