'Sudden Cardiac Death' Took Life Of Lab School Alum Zeke Upshaw
A medical examiner made a determination on what caused the death of the 26-year-old NBA G League player.

GRAND RAPIDS, MI - Zeke Upshaw, the NBA G League player who died earlier this week after collapsing during a game for the Grand Rapids Drive died of a "sudden cardiac death." That's what the Kent County, Michigan medical examiner said after an autopsy was performed, according to a report from WOOD-TV, an NBC affiliate in Grand Rapids.
Upshaw, who grew up in Hyde Park and played high school basketball for the University of Chicago Lab School, was just 26 when he collapsed during the game against the Long Island Nets on Saturday night.
Upshaw played three years of college basketball at Illinois State University before transferring to Hofstra University for his final year.
