Washington Park Woman Accused of Shooting 16-Year-Old Boys at 31st Street Beach

Police arrested a woman this week who they say was behind a 31st Street Beach shooting that left two teen boys injured.

CHICAGO - Police arrested an 18-year-old Washington Park woman this week who they say was behind a 31st Street Beach shooting that left two injured.

Officers said they took Tynisha Blissit, of the 5900 block of South Indiana Avenue, into custody around 10:35 a.m. on Tuesday, "knowing that the (she) had an investigative alert." She was allegedly identified as the suspect who brought a gun to the beach one month prior on June 11, shooting two 16-year-old boys.

Both were taken to Northwestern Hospital; one in good condition, the other, serious. Blissit faces two felony counts of aggravated battery.
