$1 Million: 121-Year-Old Cathedral Area Apartment Unit For Sale
The Joliet multi-family apartment buildings at 400-402 Western Avenue just hit the real estate market.

JOLIET, IL — You don't see many residential properties in Joliet on the real estate market for more than $1 million, but the owners of 400-402 Western Ave. just put their multi-family apartment building for sale. Their asking price is $1,075,000.
The 121-year-old three-story brick building is at the corner of Route 30 and Western Avenue, just down the street from O'Charley's Irish Pub.
Ryan Engle of the Oakbrook Terrace real estate group, Marcus & Millichap, is the listing agent for the Joliet property in the Cathedral Area.

The massive apartment building was built in 1900. It has 11,150 square-feet of space. The unit amenities include heating and air-conditioning, according to Marcus & Millichap.
Besides plenty of off-street neighborhood parking, there is a Pace bus stop right outside the apartment dwelling, which consists of one 12-unit apartment unit and one duplex building, according to the listing on LoopNet.

The apartment unit consists of:
- 5 one-bedroom and one-bathroom units
- 8 two-bedroom and one bathroom units
- 1 three-bedroom, one-bathroom unit.
On Monday, Joliet Mayor Bob O'Dekirk gave his annual State of the City speech, informing his audience that since he became Joliet's mayor in 2015, Joliet's property values remain on the rise. Property values rose 5.4 percent across Joliet in 2020 and Joliet's property values have climbed 34.6 percent since 2015, he said.
"That's an outstanding number," O'Dekirk announced.
