JOLIET, IL — In recent days, motorists along the stretch of Joliet's Interstate 80 have noticed a large wall of concrete being erected behind the Heroes West Sports Grill near Houbolt Road. On Wednesday, Joliet Patch visited the site and snapped several photos of the massive construction project in the back of the Rock Run Business Park.

Afterward, Patch tracked down the Peak Construction Corporation, which is based in Des Plaines. A press release from the company indicates the project entails a "new, speculative industrial warehouse in Joliet, Illinois."

The new warehouse will span 137,640 square feet, 30 dock doors, two drive-in doors and have "a flexible floor plan that can accommodate two tenants," Peak Construction noted.

The building's owner will be TCB 1 LLC, a joint venture controlled by Beijing-based Beijing Taihua Group and Chicago-based Janko Group.

"For this project, Peak has teamed with Harris Architects Inc. and Jacob & Hafner Associates and expects to complete construction by the end of 2019," the press release advised.
