It was originally built as a bomb-shelter, but now it serves as a mixed commercial building, according to LoopNet.
JOLIET, IL — The start of the Joliet Slammers 2020 season is still a couple months away, but the building across the street from the downtown Joliet ballpark is now for sale. According to LoopNet, 114-116 East Jefferson St. includes 12,000 square feet of available retail space.
The two-story building consists of three commercial tenants and six residential tenants on the upper level. According to the listing, the building is currently 88 percent occupied, and month to month leases are in place "to provide an opportunity for redevelopment/re-purpose."
The retail storefront is adjacent to the city's new Joliet Gateway Center for Metra train passengers.

The asking price for the building on East Jefferson Street is not listed on LoopNet. The real estate listing touts the property as "an investment opportunity."
