LHS Band Plans 30th Annual Jazz Band Dinner Dance
If you love dinner, dancing, and DiNolfo's Banquets of Homer Glen, you won't want to miss this Lemont community event to support the arts!
On Saturday, March 2, 2019, the award-winning Lemont High School Band will host its 30th Annual Jazz Band Dinner Dance Benefit at DiNolfo’s Banquets in Homer Glen. The event is open to the entire community and proceeds from the event support the Lemont High School Band Program. Attendees will enjoy live music performed by students, alumni, and professional musicians with special musical guests and vocalists. In addition to dinner, live music, and dancing, the famous Top Hat Raffle will be held during the evening for prizes including travel, tickets to popular venues, salon beauty products, designer accessories, jewelry, and much more. The LHS Band Program features five bands, including marching, symphonic, concert, jazz, and pep bands. In 2015, the LHS Band was selected to perform with Grammy- and Academy Award-winning artist Jennifer Hudson at the nationally televised event We Day Illinois. In 2016, the LHS Marching Band earned second place in its class and a berth to finals at the Illinois State University Marching Band competition. In 2017, the LHS Symphonic Band was awarded Grand Champion at the Midwest Music Fest and was selected to perform at University of Illinois’s SuperState Concert Band Festival, and the combined symphonic and concert bands were invited to perform at Chicago’s Symphony Center.
