An Italian pasta brand is facing a backlash from gay rights supporters after comments made by CEO Guido Barilla on an Italian radio show.
"I would never do an advert with a homosexual family … if the gays don’t like it they can go and eat another brand," Barilla reportedly said, going on to criticize gay adoption.
Barilla's comments prompted LGBT groups and supporters to call for a boycott of the brand, which makes pastas and sauces.

After the outcry, Guido Barilla took to Twitter to apologize; the company also posted an apology on the company's website (which appeared to be down on Friday) and on the Barilla US Twitter stream.
The apologies didn't stop the online backlash, with users taking to Twitter, reddit and other sites to blast the pasta maker, complete with memes accusing the company of making "bigotoni."
