Chefs Needed for Lemont Township Kids Cookoff
A family friendly fun event created for every kid who loves to have their turn in the kitchen! Event set for April 24.

Lemont Township is seeking young chefs to show off their skills in the fourth annual Kids Cookoff.
Set for Sunday, April 24, any and all youth from 5–18 years of age are invited to participate in the Kids Cookoff benefitting the Lemont Food Pantries.
Each chef will have a station to present their entry for judging. All chefs are to arrive at 1 p.m., with their entry fully prepared (appetizer/salad, entrée, or dessert). From 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., judging is open to the public for a $5 donation to the Lemont Food Pantries (use the forms here to let all friends, family, neighbors, any and all of the opportunity to taste of all of the amazing entries).The young chefs will be present with their entry and answer questions posed to them by the judges. The judges have slips to rank three categories (preparedness, creativity, and taste) and the chef with the highest average points in each of the three age categories (5-8; 9-13; 14-18) will be announced as the 2016 winner.

As the judging slips are being tabulated the kids circulate and taste each other’s entries. A 50/50 raffle will also be held.
Participants should be be pre-registered. Participants are asked to bring two copies of their recipes, one to be included in a cookbook for pantry families.

Parents and Grandparents can pre-register their young chef by emailing terri-oneill@lemonttownship.org or downloading the entry form from the Lemont Township website (www.lemonttownship.org) under the Community Service tab. Mail or drop off to the Lemont Township Office, Attn: Terri O'Neill-Borders.
